William C. Karasch

William C. Karasch, 97, of Elkhart, died Thursday September 9, 2021, at Elkhart General Hospital.  He was born March 6, 1924, in Elkhart, Indiana to Frank and Eva (Goldsworthy) Karasch.

     On October 8, 1960, he married Donna M. Wilburne.  She preceded him in death on May 30, 2018.  Surviving are 3 children, Monica (David) Tieman of New Palestine, IN, Chuck (Tanya) Karasch and James Karasch both of Elkhart, IN; 4 grandchildren, Matthew, Lauren, Mynah and Ella.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Donna and 3 siblings, Mary Jean Marjson, Francis Karasch and Bob Karasch.

     William was a US Army/Air Corps veteran, was a long-time member of St. Vincent Catholic Church and enjoyed going to Indiana Lake.  He worked for Ziesel’s Department Store in downtown Elkhart for over 40 years and also worked at Elder Bierman and Meijer.

     Visitation for family and friends will be from 10-11 a.m. on Wednesday September 15, 2021, in the Vincent Hall at St. Vincent Catholic Church.  The mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at St. Vincent Catholic Church.  Burial will follow in St. Vincent Cemetery where full military honors will be rendered.   Waterman-Westbrook-Clouse Funeral Home is entrusted with his care.

     Memorial contributions may be given to St. Vincent Catholic Church.
