Vada E. Rhoton

Mishawaka-Vada E. Rhoton 95, passed away November 1, 2015 at Heritage Point Assisted Living in Mishawaka, Indiana. She was born January 15, 1920 in Wayne City, Illinois to Roy & Chloe (Boswell) Thomason. On July 5, 1938 in Owensboro, KY she married Elbert Holman; he preceded her in death on February 17, 1965. She then married Kenneth D. Rhoton on October 14. 1967; he preceded her in death on May 13, 2004. She was also preceded in death by 1 brother Norman Thomason and 1 daughter Suzie Olsen.
Surviving is 1 daughter Linda Ulrich of Elkhart, 2 sons Paul (Doris) Holman of Thomson, GA, and Dale (Dawn) Rhoton of Chesterton, IN. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandson, and brother Earl Thomas of Bluford, IL.
Vada retired from Uniroyal after 22 years, was a member of the Gideon's Auxiliary, North Elkhart County Camp and she was also a pilot. In her spare time she enjoyed cooking, baking and traveling, but most of all she loved her family.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, November 5, 2015 at Waterman Westbrook Clouse Funeral Home. Additional visitation will be 1 hour prior to the 11 a.m. funeral service Friday at Hillcrest Baptist Church 59220 Bremen Highway, Mishawaka, IN. Presiding will be Dr. Daniel Gelatt and burial will follow in Olive West Cemetery.
