Ruth M. Falcone, 84, of Elkhart, went to be with the lord Saturday October 1, 2016. She passed away peacefully at her home. She was born July 11, 1932 in Elkhart to Walter & Catherine (Krause) Nadolny.
On September 2, 1957 she married Peter "Pete" J. Falcone and they owned and operated Falcone's Restaurant for over 40 years. Peter died on April 26, 2006. Ruth was a 1950 graduate of Elkhart High School. In 1948, Ruth, started working as a student at the School of Radiological Technology at Elkhart general Hospital, under the guidance of Henry Konecny, its' founder. She graduated in 1952 as the youngest technician in the State of Indiana. She continued working at the hospital until her retirement in 1970.
Ruth is survived by her children, Anthony "Tony" Falcone and Maria (Scott) Brubaker; nine grandchildren, Nicholas, Amanda and Katelyn Falcone, Rese' (Jayson) Dempsey, Zachary (Ashlea) Harrington, Victoria (Edmond) Ivankunda, Laney Reinhart, Ryan (Regina) Brubaker and Jessica Brubaker; three great-grandchildren, Tessa and Louie Dempsey and Aylvia Brubaker and a sister, Patricia (James) Linn. She was preceded in death by a brother John and sisters, Maricatherine and Josephine.
Ruth was a dedicated volunteer at Elkhart General Hospital for 30 plus years and was President of the Auxiliary for 2 terms. She was an active member of Delta Theta Tau Sorority.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 3-7 p.m. Tuesday at Waterman-Westbrook-Clouse Funeral Home and from 10- 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Vincent Hall at St. Vincent Catholic Church. The mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday October 5, 2016 at the church. Fr. Bob VanKempen from St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bristol will preside and burial will follow in St. Vincent's Cemetery in Elkhart. A vigil service will take place at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Vincent's Catholic Church/St. Mary's Catholic Church or the Center for Hospice Care.
