MARTIN AREVALO MELENDEZ

November 15, 1971 – November 24, 2023

ELKHART- Martin Arevalo Melendez, 52, of Elkhart, Indiana, passed away Friday November 24, 2023, at his residence in Elkhart.  He was born November 15, 1971, in San Vicente, El Salvador to Alfredo Melendez and Bertila Arevalo.

     Surviving is his wife of Elkhart; 8 children, Maritza Arevalo, Jenifer Arevalo, Claudia Morales, Michael (Daeleanna) Arevalo, Martin Arevalo, Jr., Jonny Arevalo, Jason Arevalo, and Fredy Flores all of Elkhart; 4 sisters, Ana Melendez, Yaneth Melendez, Rubidia Arevalo, Miladis Arevalo; 8 brothers, Juber Melendez, Carlos Melendez, Munual Melendez, Edgardo Melendez, Vidal Melendez, Mario Arevalo, Santos Arevalo, Redanis Arevalo and William Arevalo.  Also surviving are 8 grandchildren and his mother, Bertila Arevalo of San Vicente, El Salvador.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alfredo Melendez and a brother, Mario Arevalo.

     Martin was employed at MORryde in Elkhart as a group leader.  He will be dearly missed by his family.

     The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, December 7, 2023, at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church.  Fr. Craig Borchard will preside, and burial will follow in Prairie Street Cemetery.  Friends may visit with the family for 2 hours prior to the Mass in the Vincent Hall at the Church.  Waterman-Westbrook-Clouse Funeral Home is entrusted with his care.
