LYDIA A. MAST

October 4, 1929 – April 16, 2021

ELKHART- Lydia A. Mast, 91, of Elkhart, died Friday April 16, 2021 in Elkhart.  She was born October 4, 1929 in Stuttgart, Germany to Karl and Martha (Feya) Kaser.

     On May 26, 1955 in Stuttgart, Germany she married Levi Y. Mast.  He preceded her in death on September 16, 1995.  Surviving are 4 children Barbara (Tom) Kulesia of Middlebury, Edward (Janet) Mast, Leroy (Sandy) Mast, Johnny Mast all of Elkhart; 6 grandchildren Thomas Kulesia of Elkhart, Karol (Matthew) Bennett of Missouri, Erik (Michele) Mast of Elkhart, Jeremy Mast of Elkhart, Holly Mast of Elkhart, Ellen (Danny) Kohler of Elkhart; 7 great-grandchildren Alex Nelson, William Nelson Whitney Nelson, Maxwell Nelson, Quinn Mast, Gillian Bennett and Wesley Bennett.  Additional survivors include 2 sisters in Germany and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Levi, 3 sisters and 2 brothers.

     Lydia came from Germany to the United States in 1955 and was proud to become an American Citizen in 1969.  She has lived in Elkhart since 1955 and she enjoyed visiting family and friends, knitting and was an accomplished seamstress.

     Visitation for family and friends will be from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday April 20, 2021 at Waterman-Westbrook-Clouse Funeral Home.  Funeral services for Lydia will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday April 21, 2021 at the funeral home.  LeRoy Chaney will preside and burial will follow in Prairie Street Cemetery.

     Lydia was a two-time cancer survivor.
