LORRAINE E. BEMENT

April 18, 1928 – April 6, 2022

HASTINGS, MI- Lorraine E. Bement, 93, of Hastings, Michigan, passed away Wednesday April 6, 2022, at Hastings Health and Rehabilitation Center in Hastings, MI.  She was born April 18, 1928, in Elkhart, Indiana to John Edward & Eleonore (Marios) Galbreth.

     She married Charles A. Bement in 1947 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. He preceded her in death in 2005.  Surviving is a son, William “Ed” (Michelle) Bement of Caledonia, MI; 2 grandchildren, Katherine Foy and Patrick Edward Bement both of Grand Rapids, MI and 4 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles Bement and 4 brothers, John E. Galbreath, Richard T. Galbreath, Joseph A. Galbreath and Daniel F. Galbreath.

     Lorraine was a member of the Women of the Moose, Elkhart Lodge #599 and the Quarter Century Club at Miles (Now Bayer).  She worked at Miles (Now Bayer) as a laboratory technician in the Pharmacy.

     Visitation will be from Noon till 2:00 p.m. on Saturday April 9, 2022, at Waterman-Westbrook-Clouse Funeral Home.  Graveside services will follow at Adamsville Cemetery.  Pastor Tom DeFries from St. Paul’s United Methodist Church will render the graveside service.
