Lois J. Hasinfelt, 86, of Elkhart passed away at 2:25 pm on Wednesday September 30, 2015 at Golden Living Center in Elkhart. She was born on October 19, 1928 in South Bend, IN to the late Edgar & Vivian (Dilly) Smith. On September 21, 1947 she married Robert N. Hasinfelt. He preceded her in death on July 4, 2010.
Surviving are two children, Sandra Hughes of Elkhart, Rev. Robert (Kathy) Hasinfelt of Princeton, MN; three grandchildren, Mark Hughes of Elkhart, Jennifer Hasinfelt , Christine (Bill) Engren both of Princeton, MN; three great-grandchildren, William Engren, Destiny Engren, Michael Engren all of Princeton, MN and one sister, Doris Bunch of Elkhart. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Violet Berkey and Betty Smith; four brothers, Wayne, Dennis, Neal and George Smith.
Lois was a member of the First Baptist Church, where she served as church Librarian and belonged to the Women's Missionary Group. She had a card ministry, sending cards to missionaries and she enjoyed reading.
Visitation will be for one hour prior to the 1:00 p.m. Saturday October 3, 2015 funeral service at Waterman-Westbrook-Clouse Funeral Home. Her son, Rev. Robert M. Hasinfelt will preside and burial will follow at Prairie Street Cemetery.
