Edwardsburg- Lois M. Dean, 91, of Edwardsburg , Michigan formally of Elkhart passed away at 8:06 p.m. Sunday, July 31, 2016 at LG's Whispering Pines Adult Care.
She was born August 7, 1924 in Markham, Ontario to the late Louis and Myrtle (Burkholder) Grove.
She married Hilliard A. Dean on October 11, 1947 in Markham, Ontario. He preceded her in death May of 2014.
Surviving is one son, Keith (Pam) Dean of Elkhart, daughter Heather (Paul) Burns of Michigan, grandsons Eric (Alicia) and Evan Burns both of Cassopolis Michigan, and granddaughters Rachelle (Brad) Haney of Elkhart and Erin (Matthew) Ransom of Fairborn, Ohio. Also surviving are 6 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Grove; sister, Helen Thompson; son Kenneth Dean; and her parents.
Lois was a member of Zion Missionary Church and Helping Hands sewing group at the church. She also volunteered at the Faith Mission in her spare time and enjoyed cooking. Lois worked for Elixir Industries for 10 years, retiring in 1981.
Visitation will take place at Zion Missionary Church from 4-8 pm Friday August 5. Services will be held Saturday August 6, 2016 at 10 a.m. Rev. Matthew Ransom will preside and burial will follow in Prairie Street Cemetery.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Gabrielle, Sandy, Morgan and Roxanne at Whispering Pines Adult Care for all that they did for her.
Memorial contributions may be given to the church.
