LaVerne L. Eby

LaVerne L. Eby, 86, went to be with the Lord at 11:52 a.m. Sunday, April 29, 2018 at Hubbard Hill Estates. He was born December 19, 1931 in Wakarusa, IN to Earl & Viola (Rassi) Eby.

In 1953 in Union, MI he married Donna Dorrier; she survives along with 2 daughters; Sherry (John) Cullip of Bristol, Melissa (Jerry) Stump, 2 sons; Mike (Sharla) Eby and Greg (Roberta) Eby all of Elkhart. Also surviving are 20 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, 1 sister; Linda (John) Clark of Elkhart and 2 brothers; Devon (Elaine) Eby of Nappanee and Max (Sharon) Eby of Mishawaka.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 son; Todd Eby and 1 brother Eddy Eby.

LaVern retired from Miles Lab now known as Bayer after 35 years of service; he later helped with maintenance at First Baptist Church. He was a member of First Baptist Church and while there he helped with the bus ministry, was a former Joint Heirs Sunday School class among other things. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, working on cars and loved spending time with his family.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 2, 2018 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Waterman Westbrook Clouse Funeral Home. Additional visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the 11 a.m. funeral services on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Olive Cemetery-West and Pastor John Blodgett from First Baptist Church will preside.
