JOSEFINA TAPIA ALARCON

March 19, 1944 – March 6, 2022

ELKHART- Josefina Tapia Alarcon, 77, of Elkhart, died Sunday March 6, 2022, at Goshen Hospital. She was born March 19, 1944, in Tlalnepantla; Edo, Mexico to Juan Tapia and Josefina Tapia Alarcon.

She married Alfredo Marquez who preceded her in death on November 25, 2017. She is survived by 2 daughters, Liliana Marquez Tapia (Sacramento) Mendoza of Elkhart, Mayra (Salvador Reyes) Marquez of Puerto Vallarta Jalisco, Mexico and 8 grandchildren, Manuel Mendoza, Julian Mendoza, Cesar Mendoza, Alejandro Mendoza, Abraham Mendoza, Salvador Reyes, Jenifer Reyes, and Marlon Reyes.

Services for Josefina will be Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. (noon) at

St. Vincent de Paul Church. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the service. Officiating will be Reverend Craig Borchard, Eloy Jimenez, and Benjamin Landrigan. Josefina will be laid to rest at St. Vincent Cemetery in Elkhart. Memorial contributions may be made to the church. Waterman Westbrook Funeral Home has been entrusted with her care.
