ELKHART- David Coldren, 81 of Elkhart, passed away Monday, November 26, 2018 at his home. He was born June 17, 1937 in Edmore, MI, to Arthur and Gertrude (Collins) Coldren.

He is survived by his wife Betty whom he married on July 2, 1960. Also surviving are 2 daughters, Sonja (Wesley) Kring of Madison IN, and Linda ( Randy) Weddle of Mooresville, IN; 7 grandchildren, Katavah Kring, Kahanna Kring (Samuel Cooper), Mikiah Kring, Haniah Kring, Kari (Derek) Chastain, Kristopher (Allison) Weddle, and Sarah Weddle; 3 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Phillip Coldren of Tempe, AZ; and 1 sister; Virginia (James) Young of New Auburn WI.

Predeceased are siblings Ruth Clagett, Dorothy Wood, Milo Coldren, and baby sister Mary Jane.

David worked as a heavy equipment operator with Reith Riley and as a truck driver for Schneider Transport. He also served his country in the U.S. Navy Reserves.

He loved his family, farming, and economics. He had a passion for computers, classical music, discussing politics, and theology.

Visitation for David will be Friday, November 30, 5-7pm and 1 hour prior to the Saturday, December 1, 2018 10:00am service at Waterman Westbrook Clouse Funeral Home, 1129 S. Prairie St., Elkhart, IN 46516. A graveside service will also be at 3:00pm Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Oak Grove Cemetery, Hillsdale, MI.

Memorial contribution may be made to Hillsdale College.
