HATTIE M. GIBSON

February 25, 1939 – November 20, 2025

ELKHART- Hattie M. Gibson, 86, of Elkhart, passed away Thursday November 20, 2025, at her residence in Elkhart.  She was born February 25, 1939, in Henderson, KY to Oscar N. & Viola Mae (Smith) Gibson.

     In 1955 she married James C. Gibson.  He preceded her in death in 1998.

Surviving are 3 children, Darrell W. Gibson of Elkhart, Elizabeth “Dianne” Carden, George (Terry) Gibson both of East Prairie, MO; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great great grandson.  As well as 2 siblings, Linda Marchbanks of South Bend, IN and Charlie Oakley of Elkhart, IN.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 1 son Jessie Gibson, a granddaughter, Melissa Gibson and 5 brothers and sisters.

     Hattie enjoyed gardening and traveling.  She was formerly employed as a fabricator in the boating industry.

     Visitation for Hattie will be from 11:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday November 25, 2025, at Zimmerman-Clouse Funeral Home, formerly Waterman-Westbook-Clouse, 1129 S. Prairie Street, Elkhart, IN 46516.

Pastor Jack Rorie from the Sanctuary Church in Osceola will render the service, and burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.

     Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society.
