GONZALO CONTRERAS

January 10, 1969 – January 15, 2026

ELKHART, IN- Gonzalo Contreras, 57, of Elkhart, IN, passed away Thursday January 15, 2026, at the Center for Hospice Care-Raclin House in Mishawaka, IN.  he was born, January 10, 1969, in Cuernavaca, Horelos, Mexico to Ladislao Contreras and Abigail Garcia.

     Surviving is his life partner, Joyce Wysong of Elkhart, IN; 2 sons, Ivan (Mayra) Contreras of Phoenix, AZ, Samuel (Emily Wallace) Contreras of South Bend, IN; 2 daughters, Sara Contreras, Elizabeth Contreras both of Noblesville, IN and 7 siblings, Pedro Contreras Garcia, Felize Contreras Garcia, Hermilo Contreras Garcia, Jenaro Contreras Garcia, Luisa Contreras Garcia, Diego Contreras Garcia, Silvia Contreras Garcia.

     Gonzalo was employed as a Chef for the Salvation Army.  He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

     Funeral services for Gonzalo will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday January 24, 2026, at Zimmerman-Clouse Funeral Home (formerly Waterman-Westbook-Clouse Funeral Home) 1129 S. Prairie Street, Elkhart, IN 46516.  Friends may visit with the family for 2 hours prior to the start of the service at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at St. Vincent Cemetery in Elkhart.

     Memorial contributions may be given to the Center for Hospice Care.
