Gerald Edward Day

Gerald E. Day, 85, formally of Elkhart passed away March 21, 2019 in New Hampshire. He was born June 3, 1934 in Kansas, OH to Clarence & Ethel (Coats) Day. On July 7, 1970 he married Linda Duty; she preceded him in death on November 19, 2013. He was also preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Alvin. Surviving are 3 children, Daniel Day of Milford, NH, Edward Knight of Fort Worth, TX, Jennifer Mercer of Lafayette, IN, 1 step-son, Thomas (Malinda) Duty of Chapmanville, WV and 3 grandchildren. Gerald served in the U.S. Air Force and Army for 12 years. He retired from Norfolk and Southern Railroad after 31 years of service on June 20, 1998. He was a member of the American Legion, V.F.W. and of the Indiana Historical Radio Association. Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the 1 p.m. funeral service Friday, March 29, 2019 at Waterman Westbrook Clouse Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Prairie Street Cemetery where military honors will be rendered.
