Gene Richard Lambright

Gene Richard Lambright, 79, passed away May 10, 2019 at his home in Goshen. He was born October 5, 1939 in South Bend to Amos & Ella (Miller) Lambright.

On August 10, 1963 in Kittanning, PA he married Sylvia Fink; she survives along with 2 daughters, Wanda (Brad) Stewart of Elkhart, Sarah (Douglas) Buckles of Goshen and 1 son, Peter Lambright of Goshen. Also surviving are 3 grandchildren, Matthew Lambright of Goshen, Trent Wise of Goshen, Shay Wise of Elkhart, 3 great-grandchildren, Donnie Shaffer, Kyra Wise, Ellarose Wise all of Elkhart and 8 siblings.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 sister.

Visitation will be held 1.5 hours prior to the 11 a.m. memorial service Saturday, May 18, 2019 at First Baptist Church in Elkhart. Burial was held privately in West Goshen Cemetery. Presiding will be Pastor Jim Shrock and Pastor Phil Byars.

Gene founded and directed several Spanish Bible Institutes in El Salvador, Costa Rica, Goshen and Elkhart areas. He was also a teacher in the Elkhart and Goshen area and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Goshen. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, bee-keeping, collecting stamps and coins.
