Esther R. Carris

Esther R. Carris, 95, of Elkhart, passed away Monday March 16, 2020 at Courtyard Health Care in Goshen. She was born October 7, 1924 in Argos, Indiana to Alba & Martha (Jones) Robinson.
On August 22, 1947 she married Richard E. Carris. He preceded her in death on October 31, 2004. Surviving is a daughter, Sandra (Dave) Willis, a son, Ray E. (Linda K.) Carris and a stepson, Richard D. (Jane) Carris all of Elkhart; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Richard, a son Rodney, 3 brothers, Clayton, Harry and Max Robinson and 3 sisters, Geneva, Lola and Edna Pearl.
Esther was a former member of Trinity United Methodist and was currently attending McCoy Memorial Baptist Church. Esther was a stay at home wife and mother who enjoyed doing crafts, reading, and cooking for her family.
Funeral attendance will be limited to immediate and extended family only due to COVID-19. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday March 20, 2020 in the chapel at Memories Mausoleum at Rice Cemetery. Pastor Ray Laborde from McCoy Memorial Baptist Church will preside, and entombment will follow in Hope Mausoleum at Rice Cemetery. Waterman-Westbrook-Clouse Funeral Home is entrusted with Esther’s care.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to McCoy Memorial Baptist Church, 134 St. Clair Ave., Elkhart, IN 46516.
