ELKHART- Elaine Lovan, 83, of Elkhart, passed away Friday morning October 27th at her residence. She was born February 22, 1934 in Coldwater, MI to Harlan and Beulah (Schrader) Lampson.
Survivors include her husband, Dr. Norris Lovan of Elkhart; three sons, Dr. Tod (Sheryl) Lovan of Elkhart, Dr. Tad Lovan of South Bend and Norris Kip (Becky) Lovan of Goshen; two daughters, Dr. Kim (Dale) Hatcher of Mobile, AL and Dr. Tish (Todd) Landrum of Evergreen, CO; three sisters, Janice Skudlarik of South Lyon, MI, Marilyn Kuntz of Indianapolis and Harlene (Bob) Lewis of LaGrange; 11 grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was a graduate of LaGrange High School class of 1952. Elaine later graduated from Indiana University during which time she met her husband of 62 years on August 13, 1955.
Elaine loved being a mom and enjoyed canning, knitting and especially spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed working with her husband at the dental office on Prairie Street in Elkhart.
She attended the First Baptist Church of Elkhart where she and her husband would sing duets together and also worked with the children’s choir.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 5:00 PM Sunday, November 5th at Waterman-Westbrook-Clouse Funeral Home, 1129 South Prairie Street, Elkhart. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 6th at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Elkhart, 53953 County Road 17, Bristol. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the funeral service. Pastor John Blodgett will officiate. Interment will follow in Sugar Grove Cemetery in Goshen.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Elkhart or the Gideon’s International Auxiliary in memory of Elaine.
