ELKHART-Christyan R. Cortez, 18, passed away August 8, 2023, in Elkhart. He was born September 24, 2004, in Goshen.
Surviving is his mother, Susan Juarez (Pedro Hernandez), father, Omar Cortez, siblings, Austin Underwood, Lyesia Cripe, Alejandra Cripe, Ayanna Juarez, and Sabino Juarez. Also surviving are grandparents, Lenore Cripe, Jeff Cripe Sr.
Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at Maple City Chapel in Goshen. Presiding will be Pastor Joe Miller.
Christyan attended Goshen High School, worked at Culvers and Chipotle. Christyan enjoyed his days longboarding, listening to Juice WRLD and spending time with his dogs, friends and family. He loved his dogs dearly. Christyan was kind, gave everyone so much love and hugs. He was high on life, and always led with his heart, He was a light in all of our lives.
Memorial contributions may be given to the family to help offset expenses.
